In this thrilling episode of Tomley RC, we witness the unboxing of the highly anticipated 1/7th scale Team Associated SR7. Initially slated for a ready-to-run release, the SR7 took an unexpected turn and emerged as a roller. Competing with the likes of the Armor Infraction and FTX Super Forza GT, this beast of a car comes packed with potential. Despite arriving without electronics, the SR7 boasts an array of features including adjustable camber, toe, and anti-roll bars, along with slick tires and a full metal chassis.
Our fearless host wastes no time in upgrading the SR7 with a Spectrum Firma 150 ESC, a Spectrum motor, and a powerful 35-kilo servo. With these enhancements, the car hits speeds exceeding 60 mph, showcasing its prowess on the road. However, not everything goes smoothly as the SR7 encounters issues with bouncing and wobbling, potentially stemming from its tires. Quick to tackle the problem head-on, our host swaps the tires with FTX Super Forza wheels in a bid to improve performance.
Despite its handling hiccups, the SR7 impresses with its speed and drifting capabilities, leaving a lasting impression on our intrepid RC enthusiast. As the dust settles, Tomley RC delivers his verdict: while the SR7 proves to be a formidable contender, the crown for the ultimate large-scale street basher still firmly rests on the head of the Infraction. With its unmatched performance and unrivaled dominance, the Infraction continues to reign supreme in the realm of RC street racing.
